“World Telecommunication and information society day celebration 2022” May 2022
IETE, IEEE Bombey Section, IET, and Broadcast Engineering Society (India) jointly organized “World Telecommunication and information society day celebration 2022″ at Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Chembur, Mumbai on 22/05/2022.
The World Telecommunication and information society day celebration session started at 5:45 pm, session was attended by the IETE Mumbai Centre Chairman, IETE Mumbai Centre Secretary, Members of EC of IETE Mumbai and Navi mumbai , Chairpersons of IEEE Bombay section, BES and IET mumbai. The session started by welcoming the dignitaries and speaker.

Dr. Prateek Deshpande introduced everyone to the seminar’s topic and in detail information about it. The seminar was very interactive as Dr. Prateek Deshpande had many interesting and engaging topics over “Digital Technologies for Older Persons and Healthy Ageing”

The speaker shared his experiences in case of cyber crime by giving real life scenarios. He also informed the audience regarding various cybercrimes and tips and tricks essential for people whoever is using smartphone and internet. He cleared all the doubts of the audience at the end of the seminar. For future interaction, the speaker also shared his email.

The session ended with the vote of thanks to the organizing team, the speaker of the session, and to all the students and faculties who have attended the session.

“Valedictory session of 2022” April 2022
IETE-ISF, Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College in association with IETE MUMBAI CENTRE Organized a Valedictory Session of OSCILLATIONS-2022 “A final Meet-up of all IETE-ISF bodies of Various colleges” and Technical Talk at Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Chembur, Mumbai

Technical Talk on “Machine Learning for Audio Understanding — Enabling Computers To Hear Like Humans” is arranged for all participants from various colleges at 2.00 Pm followed by Valedictory Session.

Technical Talk by Mr. Prateek Verma and his live demo about Audio processing was enjoyed by all participants. Speaker was felicitated by Dr. T.P. Vinutha, HOD EXTC Department, ISF Coordinator with Memento at the end of the talk.
The Valedictory session started at 3:00 pm, session was attended by the IETE Mumbai Centre Chairman, IETE Mumbai Centre Secretary, IETE-ISF faculty coordinators of all the colleges along with their IETE-ISF teams, Winners, and all the participants. The session started by welcoming the participants and speaker. Mrs. Gauri Deshpande addressed the audience about the technical Intercollegiate Competition – OSCILLATIONS. Dr. Bhavesh Patel (Principal, SAKEC) also addressed the audience regarding the valedictory session of OSCILLATIONS 2022.
Then the session moved on to Certificates distribution, where winners from all colleges were called out One by one, each college’s events and respective winners were felicitated and congratulated for their achievement in the position of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Also Best ISFs are gives certificates to encourage them to actively participate in future events.
Further, The IETE Mumbai Centre Secretary Mrs. Suvrna bhise gave the ending speech and hence, encouraged the students to actively participating in the technical competition. Sir also thanked the speaker of the webinar. The session ended with the vote of thanks to the organizing team, the speaker of the session, and to all the students and faculties who have attended the session.

“Online Project Poster Presentation Competition 2022” April 2022
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC conducted “Online Project Poster Presentation Competition 2022″ on 26/04/2022.
All the Final Year SAKEC EXTC students participated in this event and around. 10 project groups presented their project work through poster presentations.
Each Project Group was given 08 min for the presentation followed by QA session with the Expert Panel and other faculties.

 

This Event was conducted in 2 days
1. 16/4/2022: Submission of poster.
2. 26/4/2022: Presentation of submitted poster in front of External Panel
The event was judged by Expert Panel (Prof. Asha Durafe and Prof. Archana Chaugule). Around 50 people witnessed this event which Included all participating students and faculties.

“Online Technical Paper Presentation Competition, Oscillation 2022” March 2022
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC conducted “Online Technical Paper Presentation Competition” under Oscillation 2022, a technical initiative started under IETE on 23/03/2022.
All the Final Year SAKEC EXTC students participated in this event and around. 13 project groups presented their project work through paper presentations.
Each Project Group was given 08 min for the presentation followed by QA session with the Expert Panel and other faculties.

“Gate Preparation- Future Opportunities” January 2022
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in association with IETE SAKEC organized an Online Webinar, ‘GATE Preparation – Future Opportunities’ on 29 Jan. 2022 at 2.00 Pm.

“Workshop on PCB Designing using KiCad” October 2021
The “PCB Designing using KiCad Workshop” in collaboration with IETE SAKEC was organized by Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department on 9th October, 2021 in M.S Teams platform. The event was conducted and coordinated by Ms. Lakshmi Iyer, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department under the guidance of ISF coordinator Prof. T. P. Vinutha, H.O.D of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department. Total 26 students participated for this workshop.
The workshop began by Prof. T.P Vinutha, H.O.D. EXTC department and IETE-ISF Coordinator addressing all the participants at 10A.M. It was then followed by Ms. Lakshmi Iyer introducing students to the concept of General-purpose board & PCB.
Students were explained in detail the importance of various layers involved in PCB like solder mask, silkscreen, copper pour etc. The speaker then introduced the Open source software tool of KiCad and explained its functionality and its entire design flow. An example of 5V Regulated Power supply was taken and its PCB was designed. Students performed the entire Schematic flow using Eeschema right from setting up the page layout, adding and annotating symbols, associating each one of them with its footprint, doing ERC and generating the netlist. Once the netlist was produced, the students were introduced to PCBnew tool on KiCad where they imported the netlist, created tracks, copper fills and did DRC and finally generated the required files for manufacturing.
Students were also shown various ventures that they can make use of while sourcing their components and also were demonstrated a video which will be helpful for them to understand on designing PCB at home.
The session then ended with a vote of thanks along with feedback and the speaker appreciated all the students for their efforts put it to successfully design a PCB on KiCad.
International Panel Discussion on “Adaptation of advanced technologies before reacting and responding to any natural disaster globally” September 2021
Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and IETE-SAKEC from shah and anchor kutchhi Engineering college has organized an International Panel Discussion On the topic “Adaptation of advanced technologies before reacting and responding to any natural disaster globally” on 30th September 2021 using the virtual platform.
The Keynote Speaker for the event was Dr. K.J. Ramesh, Former Director General, India Meteorological Department, India. He gave a lot of brief knowledge about cyclones, reasons that affect the strength of the cyclone, and technology used for detecting the cyclone before they hit the cyclone and four Panelists speakers Dr. Maria Cerreta, Dr. Pasquale De Toro, Dr. Giuliano Poli, Dr. Mattia Leone from Department of Architecture (DIARC) University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy presented their city port Napoli projects related to disaster management, circular economy for city port Napoli and GIS technology, the purpose of the further research, information about the risk, exposure and vulnerability which can have serious impact earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and hydrogeological events.
Many questions asked by moderator Dr. Kalpana Chaudhari to panelists were answered and discussed with respect to the Indian and European scenario.

Webinar Series on “Insight of Recent Technological Trends” from July to August 2021
Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and IETE-SAKEC in Collaboration with student chapters of other professional bodies organized “Weekly Webinar Series: Insight of Recent Technological Trends” during 10 July to 7 August 2021.
The objective of this webinar series was to provide insight of recent technological trends in research and development both locally and internationally. The speakers were professors from highly reputed Institutes and Engineers from Entuple Technologies, Bangalore. There were a total of 207 participants registered including faculties and students from various colleges and Industry professionals. It was conducted for a total of 13 hours ( Approx 3 hour weekly).
Online 15-Days Training on “REDHAT ENTERPRISE LINUX (RHEL-7)” June 2021
IETE SAKEC in collaboration with Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department was organized a 15-Day online training on REDHAT ENTERPRISE LINUX (RHEL-7) for EXTC Department Students from 15th June to 30th June 2021 (2 Hrs Per Day)

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC conducted “Online Project Poster Presentation Competition” under Oscillation 2021, a technical initiative started under IETE on 📅 08/05/2021.
All the Final Year SAKEC EXTC students participated in this event and around 19 project groups presented their project work through poster presentations.

 

Each Project Group was given 10 min for the presentation followed by QA session with the Expert Panel and other faculties.

“Overseas Education Information Series” April 2021
Computer Engineering Department in association with Training and Placement Cell, CSI-SAKEC and IETE-SAKEC had successfully conducted Overseas Education Information Series – (5th April To 8th April) with esteemed universities from US, UK, Ireland and Australia.

 

On the first day of Overseas Education Information Series, esteemed international speaker Ms. Shivani Bhalla from the Brunel University, London has discussed various specialized programs offered by the University and the prerequisites for the same. She had also discussed the queries regarding the application, scholarship, eligibility, internship, placement, and the degree in University during this pandemic situation.

On the second day of the Overseas Education Information Series i.e 6th April 2021, Ms. Pinky Desai, a motivator and an exceptional speaker representing Monash University, Australia, very candidly discussed various specialized programs offered by the University and the prerequisites for the same. She also addressed the queries of attendees regarding the applications, scholarships eligibility, internship, placement, on/off campus part – time jobs during this pandemic situation.

On the third day of Overseas Education Information Series i.e 7th April 2021, our Esteemed international speaker Prof. Derek Molloy, Dr. Conor McArdle, Mr. Colum Cronin from Dublin City University, Ireland has discussed various specialized programs offered by the Dublin City University and the prerequisites for the same. They also very candidly answered the queries regarding the application, scholarship opportunities, accommodation, eligibility, internship, placement, on/off campus part time jobs and the degree in University during this pandemic situation.

On the last day of Overseas Education Information Series i.e. 8th April 2021, our Esteemed speaker Mr. Sudipta Roy , who is a regional recruitment manager, USA has discussed various specialized programs offered by the Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey and University of Maryland, Baltimore County in USA and the prerequisites for the same. He had also discussed the queries in a very detail mannered regarding the application, scholarship, eligibility, on / off campus job opportunities, internship, placement, and the degree in the institute during this pandemic situation.

Ms. Mrunali Kulkarni, from Vision International, coordinated and supported the successful conduction of the event.

“Projects using Raspberry Pi for Beginners” March 2021
SAKEC Robo Club in association with IETE-SAKEC had organized 4 Days Webinar Series on Projects using Raspberry Pi for Beginners.The event was conducted on 20, 21, 27 and 28 March 2021 on Microsoft Team.

 

The aim of this webinar series to introduce beginners with Raspberry Pi – 4 by using basic interfacing projects. After completing of this webinar participants have got basic knowledge about Raspberry Pi – 4 and how to interface basic sensors, I/O devices with Raspberry Pi – 4. The speaker of this webinar series was Mr. Nemeen Shah. He is Alumni of SAKEC and currently working as Research and Development Engineer, Embin Technologies, Mumbai

The Day – 1 of webinar started with the gracious presence and motivational guidance of Prof. T. P. Vnutha, HoD, EXTC Department and Co-ordinator, IETE-SAKEC. Total 69 Students from the various Department and faculty members had Registered for this webinar series. Registration Fee was Rs. 50/- per participant.

Microsoft Team was the platform used for this webinar and event was successfully conducted. The informative and interesting webinar was conducted with overall knowledge of RASPBERRY Pi and interfacing of different sensors and I/O devices was practically demonstrated in this webinar series. The staff associated with Robo Club collected the feedback via google forms the web link of which were given to the participants.

In valedictory function at afternoon session of last day of webinar, few participants among student and staff had expressed their experiences and views about webinar. Prof. Jagdish Sarode given vote of thanks.
The session was concluded by Staff Coordinator Mr. Panjab Mane, Mr. Rohan Borgalli and Mr. Bhushan Pawar.

Overall, the 4 days webinar Series was conducted successfully with positive feedback along with all staff coordinators, and participants.

“IOT USING RASPBERRY PI” February 2021

IETE SAKEC in Association with Information Technology Department, organized a workshop on “IOT USING RASPBERRY PI”. The event was conducted on 27th February 2021 on Microsoft Team. This workshop would form a brief understanding and learning of Raspberry Pi. The main motto behind conducting this workshop is: “To get deep knowledge about Raspberry Pi and to learn the how to use it for IOT” So for the implementation of innovative ideas and to get best results we can use RASPBERRY PI

 

The session was opened in the gracious presence and motivational guidance of following dignitaries:
1. Ms. Archana Chaugule – Assistant Professor
2.. Mr. Manish Bhelande – Assistant Professor

Students from the various Department and faculty members from various colleges had actively participated in the event.
As per the scheduled time the event was inaugurated at 10.00 a.m. in the presence of event coordinators.
Further the speakers Mr. Rohit Mishra initiated the workshop with great enthusiasm.

The event was successfully conducted in a Microsoft team meeting. The volunteers conducted a quiz via google forms collected the feedback via google forms the web link of which were given to the participants.
At the end of the event, the speakers were presented with certificates of Appreciation and Memento. Then the participants and the volunteers were also graced with their certificates. The session was concluded by Staff Coordinator Ms. Archana Chaugule and Mr. Manish Bhelande, along with student Coordinator Mr. Akash Pednekar.
Overall the workshop was conducted successfully with positive feedback along with all staff coordinators, volunteers and participants.

“My journey from India to Germany ” Dec. 2020

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in association with Alumni Cell & IETE SAKEC is organized, ‘My journey from India to Germany’ on 30th Dec. 2020 at 11.00 Am.
Speaker of the event is Mr. Vinit Veera, Alumni of EXTC Dept. Batch 2018-19 went on to pursue his masters degree in Communications and Multimedia Engineering from Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He is specialising in Audio Signal Processing.
In this talk he covered following points:

[3]. finding and applying for internships

“IETE M Tech-Webinar Series on International webinar on Telecommunications” Oct. 2020
University Of North America (UoNA), Shah and Anchor Kutcchi Engineering College and The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Mumbai Centre Organized International webinar on Telecommunications under IETE M Tech-Webinar Series.
The topic of the webinar was “5G connectivity and Fiber”. The Webinar was conducted on Microsoft Team Platform on 17th October, 2020 from 6.30 PM to 8 PM. The webinar was open to all students, Professors and Professionals.
Speaker of Event Mr. P. Kelley Dunne briefed on, the telecommunications industry and its pivot to Fibre-optic cabling, and infrastructure to support the implementation 5G and provisioning rural America’s connectivity. He also mentioned some keynotes about the industry over his 30 years’ experience of dealing with various telecommunications projects. He explained some of the key positions & careers needed to accomplish such monumental projects effectively

“Online Project Poster Presentation Competition under Oscillations 2020” April 2020
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC & IIC2.0 SAKEC conducted “Online Project Poster Presentation Competition” under Oscillation 2020 on 📅15/04/2020 on Online platform.

 

All BE EXTC SAKEC students participated in this event and around 17 BE project groups presented their project work through poster presentation. Each Project Group was given10 min for presentation and a few more minutes for QA session, for Judges and other faculties too queried.
This Event was conducted in 2 slots
1. Morning: 11.00 Am – 1.30 Pm
2. Afternoon: 2.30 Pm – 6.00 Pm

Event was inaugurated by Dr. Bhavesh Patel(Principal) and concluded by Dr. V.C.Kotak and Prof. Swati Nadkarni with their Motivating words. To Judge the Event we had Ms. Shubhangi Motewar (Elex dept) and Ms. Archana Chaugule (I.T. dept). Around 80 people witnessed this event which Included all participating students, faculties and Judges

“Pcb Designing And Etching” January 2020

 

IETE SAKEC and IIC 2.O in Association with Information Technology Department,organized a workshop on ”Pcb Designing And Etching”. The event was conducted on 28th January, 2020 in Lab 404. This workshop would form a brief understanding and learning of PCB designing. The main motto behind conducting this workshop is: “To get deep knowledge about PCB and to learn the implementation of the same.” So for the implementation of innovative ideas and to get best results we turn to PCB DESIGNING.

IETE-SAKEC Student Chapter in collaboration with Electronics & Telecommunication Department and IIC 2.0 of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College had organised INDUSTRIAL VISIT 2020 on 2nd to 9th January, 2020 to

 

  • ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Bangalore,
  • Visvesvaraya Industrial And Technological Museum (Vitm), Bangalore
  • Centre For Development Of Advanced Computing (C-Dac), Bangalore and
  • Pondicherry

ISTRAC is entrusted with the major responsibility to provide tracking support for all the satellite and launch vehicle Missions of ISRO. The major objectives of the Centre are to carry out mission operations of all operational remote sensing and scientific satellites and provide them Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TTC) services from launch vehicle lift-off till injection of satellite into orbit, also estimate its preliminary orbit in space and hardware and software developmental activities that enhance the capabilities of ISTRAC for providing flawless TTC and Mission Operations service.
Mr. B Sankar Madaswamy, scientist/Engineer-SF, Manager, HRD, ISTRAC, Bengaluru. briefed about the ISTRAC and its operations.
Students gained knowledge about the orbital path of Mars mission and motivated to participate and contribute towards space research programs of India.

VITM, a constituent unit of National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, was established in memory of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. A modest building with a built-up area of 4000 sq. mtrs. was constructed in the serene surrounding of the Cubbon Park, housing various industrial products and engines,
VITM visit has striven to fulfill its objectives of stimulating creativity, innovation ideas among SAKEC students so that our students will reach new heights in their careers in the field of Engineering.

C-DAC, BANGALORE is the premier R&D organization of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for carrying out R&D in IT, Electronics and associated areas. Different areas of C-DAC had originated at different times, many of which came out as a result of the identification of opportunities. The setting up of C-DAC in 1988 itself was to built Supercomputers in context of denial of import of Supercomputers by USA. Since then C-DAC has been undertaking the building of multiple generations of Supercomputers starting from PARAM with 1 GF in 1988. Students learn all technical aspects through the CDAC visit.

Total 54 Students from all year and Department participated in this Industrial Visit.

“Hands on Workshop of Microcontroller Programming skill Development” December 2019
“Five days Hands on Workshop of Microcontroller Programming skill Development” organized by Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department in collaboration with IETE SAKEC from 9th December 2019 to 13th December 2019.

 

The workshop inauguration is done by Prof. T.P Vinutha, H.O.D. EXTC department. She addressed to all the participants. These Hands-on sessions was conducted by Ms. Gauri Chavan, Mr. Jagdish Sarode and Dr. Kalpana Chaudhari.

In this workshop the key points covered are
1. Architecture and Hardware components of Microcontroller
2. Microcontroller programming skills using assembly language and C programming
3. Keil and Proteus Software
4. Various input and output interfacing with Microcontroller.

During five days workshop, Ms. Shweta Shetty and Ms. Gauri Deshpande maintained coordination with all participants and speakers and also helped the students to fulfill their requirement during workshop. The supporting staff Ms. Minakshi Sanas, Mr. Tukaram Chavan, Ms. Shradhha Avachat helped to check microcontroller kits, installation of keil software & maintain laboratory during workshop.

Total 26 Students from SE & TE EXTC Department participated in this Event.

“IETE Innovation Meet(IIM)-2019” October 2019
The IETE Mumbai Centre successfully conducted Innovation Meet-2019 hosted on October 22, 2019 at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engg. College.The theme of IETE Innovation Meet was focused on the Advances in RF measurements and to provide opportunity for academician / students to update themselves, interact with Experts and showcase their project / work ideas.

 

The event was inaugurated by eminent personalities gracing the dais were the chief guest Mr. Jayant Potdar, V P Reliance properties, Dr. KTV Reddy, past President IETE, Dr. J. W. Bakal President IETE New Delhi, Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Principal SAKEC, Dr. S. S. Thakur, Chairman IIT Mumbai Centre, Mr. Parag Walinjkar Secretary, IETE Mumbai Centre. The number of other dignitaries of IETE and Industry also graced the occasion.

Deliberation started with lighting of inaugural lamp by dignitaries and recital of Saraswati Vandana. In his welcome address and opening remarks Dr. S. S. Thakur extended deepest gratitude to the chief guest and dignitaries for gracing the occasion with their kind presence. Dr. Bhavesh Patel have gave an elaborate on how Institutes are playing vital role in innovations today and emphasized on Technological innovations to change the future life. Dr. K. T. V. Reddy highlighted on, how innovation meet started and role of IETE in innovation in Technology.

Chief guest Mr. Jayant Potdar delivered his inaugural address which focus on how the innovations are changing the industry dynamics and human life.The IIM started with seminar by Mr. Kartik Parikh from Fastech communication in his seminar he briefed on Radiated RF measurements and scope of work in this area. The second seminar was conducted by Mr. Anish Murthy, RF Design Engineer from Anirtsu, he briefed about RF Measurement Technology and various instrument used to carry out RF measurements.

The event was spread in two session. in the afternoon session project competition was conducted where more than 60 student/ researcher exhibited their work / ideas. The event was judged by the eminent persons from industry and academics, Mr. J R Nikahade and Mr. Karnani and selected top 3 winner projects and 3 Consolation Prize Winners for IIM 2019.

Finally the IIM was concluded with Prize distribution ceremony and vote of thanks.

“Drone Development workshop” August 2019
Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering in association with IETE-SAKEC had organized “Drone Development workshop” by WeCan Educational Organization in association with Drona Aviation, IIT Bombay on 9th – 10th August 2019.

 

In this workshop following topics are covered:
1. Understanding of Drone BASICS
2. Concept of Aerodynamics
3. Electronic System interfacing
4. Programming with IDE-CYGNUS
5. Assembling and Flying Drone

The above Hands-on-workshop and competition had a huge response from SAKEC students and also from other college students.

The event was coordinated by Ms. Gauri Chavan and Ms.Uma Raj, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department under the guidance of ISF coordinator Prof. T. P. Vinutha, H.O.D of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department.

IETE SAKEC in association with EXTC Department celebrated IETE DAY along with Intra College Technical Quiz 🤖 Quizzical Suspects 🤖 on 31st January, 2019.
The event was started with welcoming our guests Dr. V.C. Kotak (Vice principal), Ms. T.P. Vinutha (H.O.D, EXTC) and staff members of different departments.
In Intra College Technical Quiz through various rounds of Technical Quiz 4 teams were selected and that were Team Edison, Team Einstein, Team Volta and Team Tesla.

 

Finally consist of three rounds:
1. General Technical Quiz
2. Domain Specific Technical Quiz
3. Time Based Technical Quiz

The whole quiz competition was judged by Ms. T.P. Vinutha and Ms. G. Sharmila.
After the whole Event cake was cut to celebrate IETE-SAKEC Day.

IETE-SAKEC in association with Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering had organized an event on “Hands on workshop on Arduino” on 1st September 2018 from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm. The event was inaugurated in presence of the ISF Coordinator and HOD(EXTC) Ms. T.P. Vinutha and Mr. Rohan Borgalli. Speaker of the Event was Mr. Neemen Shah, TE Student, EXTC Department. It is Coordinated by Mr. Rohan Borgalli, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department and Total 26 students from college were attended same. Event Includes Hands-on experience of Arduino Uno board, Interfacing of sensors and its Programming. During Events The students were given different task, a program to code. and student who was able to crack the code was given 3-months free membership of instructables. “Internet of Things-IOT” workshop
IETE SAKEC Student’s Forum in collaboration with Information Technology Department organized “Internet of Things-IOT” workshop at Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College. The workshop was conducted for period of 02 days from 21st July, 2018 to 22nd July, 2018 and it covered topics like Basics of IOT and developing IOT based applications using Arduino Uno, NodeMCU and Raspberry Pie kits, workshop got overwhelmed respnose from participants, including students, staff members and industry professionals. Workshop was co-ordinated by Asst. Prof. Archana Chaugule.
The speakers were from C-DAC, Navi Mumbai. Mr. Shivraj Dongawe who covered all the theory related to the the IOT workshop and Mr. Srinivas Yalampati covered all the practical sessions.

IETE International Conference on Recent Trends in Sustainable Technologies
An international conference on ‘Recent Trends in Sustainable Technologies (ICRTST-2K18)’ was held during 14-15 July, 2018 at Mahavir Education Trust’s Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, affiliated to University of Mumbai. The event was organized by The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, (IETE) Mumbai Centre.

 

The presence of around 200 participants made the conference a great success. Eighty contributory papers in the fields of VLSI and Embedded Systems, Control and Computation, Image and Video processing, IoT, Wireless Communication and Non conventional energy were presented from home and abroad. In the 2 days program, technical paper presentations were conducted in three parallel sessions.

Professor Subhasis Chaudhuri, Dean of International Relations and Professor at IIT Bombay was the Chief Guest at the inauguration ceremony while the Special Guests included Dr. KTV Reddy, President of IETE, Dr. Udhav Bhosle, Chairman of IETE Mumbai Centre, Prof M. N Hoda IETE TP&PC Chairman, along with Shri Keshavji Umarshi Chhadva, Chairman of Mahavir Education Trust and Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Principal of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College.

Prof Chaudhuri addressed the gathering about the need for green data centers for effective conservation of energy and also emphasized on the need to find innovative and integrated solutions in this field.

The keynote speaker, Lt. Col. Monish Ahuja, spoke on the need to support India’s drive to diversify its energy sources by exploiting renewable energy, conserving natural resources and identifying the most important challenges and opportunities in the energy

Cultural program:
A cultural program was hosted by the IETE Mumbai section on the 7th floor auditorium of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College after the technical sessions on July 14, 2018. The ‘ Maharashtra Folkdance ‘ themed program very effectively traced the culture of Maharashtra and the beautiful dances were well appreciated by one and all present.

Valedictory function:
A valedictory function was organized to felicitate the participants of the conference. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. K.T.V Reddy, President of IETE along with Prof Udhav Bhosle, Chairman of IETE Mumbai section, Dr Sanjay Thakur, Convener to this conference and Prof S.S Mande, the Co-convener of the conference. The Chief Guest, Prof KTV Reddy gave valedictory address where he expounded the need for research and encouraged the participants to be essential in igniting the spirit of research amongst the academia . The function successfully ended with vote of thanks given by, Prof S. S. Thakur, Convener of the ICRTST-2K18.
