IEEE SAKEC organized a seminar on Film Making. The speaker of the event was Mr. Vrushal Zatey who is a professional cinematographer. Mr. Vrushal has worked as an assistant cinematographer in two Marathi feature films and as a cinematographer in several commercial advertising videos. The event started with Mr. Vrushal giving a brief introduction about the basics of film making and script writing. He discussed the important points in the process of script writing and how one can bring it alive on the screen. It was followed by a question-answer round where the participants asked many questions related to film making.
IEEE SAKEC conducted the workshop on Model United Nations Rules of Procedures on 24 th February, 2018. It was a comprehensive approach to make the students familiar with how actually Model United Nations works with the formal procedure. The speaker for the event was Siddhant Pokle who introduced Model United Nations, also known MUN. It is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically role play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. MUN is considered as one of the best extracurricular in today’s time which involves debating on specific agenda’s, public speaking, teamwork, diplomacy, leadership abilities and it gives a great exposure to the world political happenings. It is a very formal event which follows lots of rules and procedures as it works. So for the first timers all the rules and procedures where explained further in the event. There was also a demonstration given so that the participants can understand whole procedure more clearly.
Faculty Development Program on “Computational Intelligence for Biometrics”
IEEE SAKEC in association with Department of Electronics Engineering organized a Faculty Development Program under Distinguished Lecture series on “Computational Intelligence for Biometrics” on 19th December 2017. This lecture was delivered by Prof. Vincenzo Piuri of University of Milano, Italy. Prof. Vincenzo Piuri is Professor in Computer Engineering at the University of Milano, Italy, and has been Visiting Professor at University of Texas at Austin and at George Mason University, USA. Main research interests are: Intelligent Systems, Signal/Image Processing, Machine Learning, Pattern analysis and recognition, Biometrics, Neural Networks. Original results have been published in more than 400 papers in international journals, proceedings of international conferences, and books. He is IEEE Fellow, ACM Distinguished Scientist, and INNS Senior Member.
Vice-Principal Dr.V.C.Kotak welcomed the guest and the audience. Mr. Abhay Phansikar, Vice Chair, IEEE Bombay section was kind enough to grace the session. The session was attended by our staff members, students and researchers from other academic institutions. Prof. Vincenzo Piuri explained the subject in a lucid style and the talk was followed by a rigorous question answer session which showed the involvement of the audience in the subject. Principal Dr. Bhavesh Patel felicitated the speaker. Dr.Uma Rao, Head, Department of Electronics Engineering, proposed the vote of thanks.
Introduction to Python
IEEE SAKEC in association with the Computer Department of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College conducted an event on Introduction to Python on 3 rd February, 2018. The main motive of the event was to make student aware about Python programming language and its various benefits on day to day basis and industrial applications. The event started after all the students acquired their seats and the speaker was welcomed with a token of appreciation and bit information about his experiences and knowledge regarding the subject. Further as the event proceeded the speaker started with the basics of the language and slowly moving towards simple logical questions. As the event went on going smoothly, students were getting clearer about the language. As the event progressed the level of programming raised with more and more complexity of the codes. Students were getting more interested and came with doubts as well which were solved by the speaker.

Outbound Management Development Program
IEEE SAKEC have organized Outbound Management Development Program on 1st October 2017.Students from different branches of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi engineering college visited two industries that is Maganlal Chikki factory and Vinis Products pvt ltd where they manufactured plastic items used in medical fields.Students have also did many adventerous activities like zip lining, archery and team building games conducted in United 21 retreat, lonavala.
Swachh Bharat Daud
IEEE Bombay Section in association with IEEE SAKEC and Electronics Engineering Department of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College organised a SWACHH BHARAT DAUD at Chembur, Mumbai on 17th September 2017 at 7 am.This is organized as a token of gift to our honourable Prime minister Shri. Narendra Modi on his 67th birthday. The marathon was a 3 km run from Suman Nagar to Shivaji Chowk and back. Students of SAKEC reached there at 7 a.m. The organisers explained the importance of clean and a fit India.Students have took an oath of keeping our surroundings clean and also tell people to do the same. In a while the run started and all the IEEE SAKEC members joined school children in the run. Organizers have provided snacks and drinks at various points.
Workshop on LATEX
IEEE SAKEC in association with Computer Engineering Department of SAKEC has conducted a workshop on “Introduction to Latex” on 16th August 2017. The Program was conducted for students of SAKEC and other colleges by Prof. Manimala Mahato. Along with her the event was co-ordinated by Prof. Shazia Sayyed.
Latex is a software that is used for documentation and making reports. Latex is preferable than MS Word because of the high typographical quality of the documents it can produce and editing documents in word is very easy.In this workshop, topics related to LATEX including installation steps of the LATEX, familiarization of LATEX, different commands starting from basic to advanced, which is required to write a report in LATEX, is covered.

Video Graphics Workshop
IEEE-SAKEC student branch have organized a VIDEO GRAPHICS WORKSHOP on ‘9th September 2017’.The main objective of the workshop was to get the students acquainted with the Adobe Premium Pro software for video graphics. The event took place in the 612/13/14 Lab on 6th floor from 9am-1pm.
The workshop was organised for all the students of college and the event had more than 70 registrations.The speaker first started with the explanation related to video graphics part. The participants were taught how to add many effects to their movies like merging, ripple effect, many video effects etc. The whole part was completed by giving hands-on practice to the students making them understand the theoretical part in an interactive manner.
Tree Plantation Program
IEEE SAKEC in association with Lion’s club,Chembur organized a “Tree Plantation” program on 8th September at 3pm.It was an opportunity for students to give back to Mother Earth. The saplings for Tree Plantation were provided by Lion’s Club.The event started by the dignitaries planting the saplings first and then the students taking over. Thirty saplings were planted.
Drug Awareness Campaign
The youth of the nation is the strength of the nation,IEEE SAKEC & Lion’s Club made an effort to create awareness amongst the students of Shah And Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College.IEEE SAKEC in association with Lion’s Club of Bombay Science city organized a Drug awareness campaign 8th of September 2017.The dignitaries for the event were Mrs. Saroj Sharma, Mr. M. S. Pillai, Mrs Arundhati Sanyal, Mr. Shivkumar Rao of Lion’s Club , Mr Nikhil Pandit of Loving Hands Foundation,Principal of our college Dr. Bhavesh Patel and Vice Principal and Branch Counselor of IEEE Sakec Dr. V. C. Kotak. Mr. Nikhil Pandit was once a drug addict and alcoholic himself shared his experience with us .Mr. Nikhil Pandit spoke about his vision of helping people facing drug abuse, he spoke of the ill effects of drug abuse.
Scientific Calculator Workshop
The scientific calculator workshop was organized by the IEEE-SAKEC on ‘4th September 2017’. The main objective of the workshop was to get the students acquainted with the scientific calculator and teach them the basic functions which are going to help them throughout their engineering years.

Electronics Engineering Department in association with IEEE SAKEC organized a session on Innovation In Teaching-Learning Process “Flip your class with technology” for faculties of SAKEC on 10th March 2017. Seminar was conducted by Ms. Simran Dawar, Product Marketing Manager, Windows and devices, Education, Microsoft.
Skill & Knowledge Enhancement Program(SKEP)
IEEE Bombay section in association of Electronics Engineering department , SAKEC and IEEE SAKEC organized Skill & Knowledge Enhancement Program(SKEP) in shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering college on 1st March 2017 from 2 pm to 5 pm. This SKEP had two session out of which first session “Pathway to research” was conducted by Dr. Sangeeta M. Joshi who is Technical Advisor in Vidyalankar Institute of Technology. Second session “Research methodology” was conducted by Dr. R.G. Karandikar who is working as a Professor in K.J. Somaiya college of Engineering. The external faculties from various colleges and faculties from all the departments of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi engineering college attended this SKEP event.
This SKEP sessions are specially organized for the participants who wants to pursue PhD.
Why Standards matter?
“IEEE SAKEC in association with electronics department of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering college organized a session on “Why Standards Matter?” under the distinguished lecture series of IEEE Bombay Section.
The session has been organized to highlight IEEE Standards Association including the standards development process and its importance of understanding standards as young entrepreneurs and young engineers. The talk also discussed the IEEE initiatives and projects as part of our “Standards in Education program”.
The speakers for the session were Srikanth Chandrasekaran, Director of IEEE Standard & Technology, Mr. Yatin Trivedi Treasurer & Member of the Board Of Governors, IEEE-SA and Dr. Andrew Myles Governor of IEEE Standards Association Board Of Governors. Also we had Dr. Ing. Konstantinos Karachalios, Managing Director,IEEE Standards association as a guest at shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering college.
IEEE SAKEC organized a workshop on “Ethical Hacking” on 27th August 2016. The Objective of the workshop was to discuss various concepts of Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security. The eminent speaker of the workshop was MR. ABHISHEK CHANDAN. He is currently working as Team Leader and Senior Security Analyst at Paladion Networks Pvt. Ltd.The event coordinators were Mr. Abhishek Ganatra and Yash Gangar. The workshop was a great success indeed. It was a interactive workshop and the students were excited to gain some new knowledge.
“A workshop conducted by IEEE SAKEC in association with Computer Engineering Department at Lab No: 507,508 & 509 on ORACLE was organized on 20th of February,2016. The motive behind the workshop was to make students familiar with the ORACLE concepts. Head of Computer Engineering Department Mr. Uday Bhave Sir inaugurated the workshop with the auspicious introduction to the system, “ORACLE”. He explained all the necessary tools, features, points that are used in while administrating with extreme proficiency.
CYBER LAW AND NETWORKING
IEEE SAKEC and the IT department of SAKEC provides the students of SAKEC a chance to gain knowledge about “Networking and Cyber Law”. The students of SAKEC are always given an exposure to learn and implement many innovative ideas by the IEEE SAKEC every year. This year IEEE SAKEC has come up with an event to give knowledge about the Digital Culture and Cyber Law.
